Brenda and Thomas Scardefield paid extra in their adoption to have me birthed in a hospital opposed to being born on the poor streets of Callao, Peru.  

During their stay in Peru, they were met with challenges. Not only was the country going through a chaos time with " The Shining Path," but poverty was all around them. There was little to no safety during there journey. 

One day, while strolling along there was a woman that pointed out to Brenda, "Senorita, paint!" As she turned to look, three men grabbed the baby bag and they instantly thought they were going to steal me! 

There were cages for babies not for animals at farmers markets because people would sell them on the black market. 

They got their passports stolen and that was a headache for them. 

Eventually Thomas had to leave for work and Brenda stayed back with the help of the people at the hotel looking after Christopher.

Leaving for North America, my feet were kissed and blessed saying, "lucky baby!"

My American Dream is incredible. I am blessed to have had wonderful parents and very supportive childhood friends in Stratford, NJ.

Fast forward today, my parents both passed away and I am just doing my thing.
